1. Introduction
FlipMate, LLC ("FlipMate," "we," "us," or "our") is a Washington limited liability company that operates a sourcing and transaction-support service for furniture resellers. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information in connection with our website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide to Us
We collect information that you voluntarily provide when you apply for early access, register an account, or otherwise interact with the Service. This may include:
- Account and application information: your name, email address, city, state, and pickup radius.
- Early access application details: information submitted through our early access application form.
- Payment information: transaction metadata related to your service fee payments and refunds. FlipMate does not directly collect or store your payment card information. Payments are currently processed through Venmo, which is subject to its own terms and privacy policies.
- Communications: information you provide when you contact us for support or otherwise communicate with us, including via support@flipmate.com.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you interact with the Service, we may automatically collect limited technical information, including:
- IP address: collected when you submit the early access application form, primarily for the purpose of detecting automated or abusive submissions.
We do not currently collect device identifiers, analytics identifiers, cookies, user-agent strings, referrer data, or similar tracking information through the Service beyond what is described above. If this changes in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy.
2.3 Information Related to Your Use of the Service
If you use the Service to track your inventory of items obtained through FlipMate, we may collect and store information such as item descriptions, list prices, sale prices, days on market, and item status (for example, listed or sold). This information is provided by you and is used to support your use of the Service.
2.4 Transaction Counterparty Information
In the course of providing the Service, FlipMate temporarily processes limited information related to transaction counterparties (that is, individuals offering items for sale through third-party sources). This information is used solely to coordinate pickup logistics and may include:
- Message content exchanged between FlipMate and the transaction counterparty.
- Pickup address provided by the transaction counterparty.
- Logistics details such as access or delivery notes.
This information is temporary and operational in nature. It is not retained as a long-term data asset. Our standard practice is to delete transaction counterparty message content and pickup address information within seventy-two (72) hours after the associated pickup is completed or canceled.
FlipMate does not maintain a database of transaction counterparties, does not use counterparty information for marketing purposes, and does not sell or share counterparty information with third parties except as necessary to provide the Service or as required by law.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Providing the Service: to process your application, manage your account, identify and present sourcing opportunities, coordinate pickups, process payments and refunds, and communicate with you about the Service.
- Improving the Service: to understand how users interact with the Service, diagnose technical issues, and improve functionality.
- Safety and security: to detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access, and to protect the rights and safety of FlipMate, our users, and transaction counterparties.
- Legal compliance: to comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or enforceable governmental requests.
- Communications: to send you transactional communications related to your account and use of the Service, such as early access confirmations, approval notifications, and support responses.
We do not currently use your information for marketing or promotional communications. If we begin sending marketing communications in the future, we will provide you with the ability to opt out.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
- With transaction counterparties: we may share limited information with transaction counterparties as necessary to coordinate a pickup (for example, confirming a pickup time). We do not share your full name, email, or contact information with transaction counterparties without your consent.
